It’s been a long time since I did not write an article for the Pop Culture category of my blog. So today, I would like to write about an artist who is far from the eccentricities of another female singer named Lady Gaga… The reason why I love her music so much is because it is very ecclectic, her voice is at the same time powerful and sweet. Her talent is like a meeting of Fleetwood Mac, Nina Simone and a certain pre-Ziggy Stardust David Bowie, and it lies in her ability to change a catchy smooth pop song into a sort of anthem of happiness and of festivity.

Her first album, Things I Will Need In The Past, released in 2008, is the kind of album when you listen to it, you listen from the first track until the last one. In June 2010, she released Charlene Kaye and The Brilliant Eyes EP which contains four new songs and a remix. Lately, she recorded a second duet with Glee actor and singer Darren Criss called Dress & Tie (the first duet Skin & Bones is available on her first record) and she’s being busy with the recording of her much-anticipated new album…

Dress & Tie is the perfect example of her incredible talent not only as a singer, but also as a songwriter and musician.
